The Viking King

By 999 the Danish king Danish king Swein Forkbeard decided that simply raiding England wasn't enough. He decided to conquer England. The first time he tried to conquer England was in 999 but he was, unfortunately, brought back to Scandinavia by a coup to overthrow his leadership. He tried again in 1005 but again was forced back to Scandinavia. Finally by 1013 he had, after years of campaigning, conquered England. All major towns like Oxford, Bath and Winchester had capitulated.
